Prepare 8 oz of Plain flour.
Take 1/2 tsp of Salt.
You need 1 tsp of Baking powder.
Take 3 oz of Glace cherries.
You need 6 oz of Caster sugar.

You need 2 medium of Eggs.
You need 1 dash of Vanilla essence.
You need 1 dash of Milk to mix.
Rich Cherry Cake step by step
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Line a loaf tin with greaseproof paper..
Sieve flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl..
Cut cherries in to quarters and add to flour..
Cream butter and sugar together then add the beaten eggs a little at a time..
Stir in the dry ingredients lightly adding a little milk to mix then stir in the essence..
Spoon mixture into tin and spread evenly..
Sprinkle a little caster sugar over the cake before baking for about an hour..
